OUC pay stubs, W2s for 2,100 workers target of possible ‘data attack’

A data breach may have occurred with payroll information for 2,100 current and former Orlando Utilities Commission employees, according to a warning letter to workers distributed by OUC management.

A private company, PaperlessPay Corp. of Jacksonville, has provided an online platform since 2007 where OUC personnel can access pay stubs. The platform was expanded in 2012 to include W2 forms, which contain Social Security numbers.

The municipally owned utility was notified by Paperless Pay on Feb. 20 of a “data attack.”
